Words of Inspiration and Motivation

The words that stood out for me from Dr. Whitebook speech on Child care employment were:" A good work environment should be both a criterion for federal funding opportunities as well as a allowable use of federal funds". "Even teachers who are experienced the best preparation and support for ongoing learning cannot demonstrate their competence absent a respectful and rewarding workplace." Those words resonates with right now because we are in an fight for worthy wages and respect at the company I work at now.

The Floor Time Approach by Dr. Greenspan MD open my eyes to that I am doing things that are effective for my children in my classroom, When he said" When you are on the floor with a child use this time to excite her interests, draw her to connect to you, and challenge her to be creative, curious and spontaneous." The child will move forward intellectually and emotionally. I see that progress in my children as they grow and leave my classroom.

When I watch the video on in week two about what is your passion, some words that motivate me were "If I help one child be successful in the classroom than I have made a difference.( Raymond Hernadez Executive Director of School of Early Childhood Education University of Southern California),  I always said that if I can help just one child I am doing my job as a educator and it is good to hear another professional say that is his passion as well. The other words that motivated me were when one professional said" They were called to teach and their passion was to nurture children to grow to their fullest abilities."(Louise Sparks Professor Emeritus at Pacific Oaks College  California). I always tell people I feel teaching children is a calling for my life and I am glad that someone feels the same.
